Sofia Niño de Rivera

As a pioneer of stand-up in Mexico and Latin América, Sofia Niño de Rivera has been a key figure in the region, inspiring a whole new generation of young comedians. For more than fourteen years, de Rivera has showcased her talent on the international stage, visiting theatres, comedy clubs, and festivals around the world. Her comedy is distinguished by its honesty and sharpness, addressing topics such as relationships, female identity, politics, and Mexican traditions. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including Mexico City's "Woman of the Year" in 2016, and she was the first woman to be given a Spanish-language Netflix special; “Expuesta”. She has since released two more specials, “Seleccion Natural” on Netflix, and “Sobrevivi” on Amazon Prime.
