My Therapist Ghosted Me
My Therapist Ghosted Me is a result of Joanne’s therapist doing exactly that. First of all it was not answering the phone, then it was not answering the clinic door. Finally it was refusing to speak to Joanne after she tracked her down (admittedly her therapist was at that time scattering her aunt’s ashes at Enfield crematorium).
Despite it all, it’s often said that friends provide the best support, so the duo teamed up to do exactly that (alongside a generous helping of laughter as that too is said to be the best form of therapy). Together they give 100% unqualified, unsubstantiated but up-front and honest advice on the plethora of problems both themselves and many others continue to grapple with.
Since launching in April 2021, the podcast has over 150 episodes and now reaches 3.5 million listeners per month with its guaranteed laugh-out-loud content. It was named Podcast Champion at the 2023 British Podcast Awards from PodPod, which honours a podcast that has changed the landscape of the medium and made a real impact, and scooped the Spotlight Award at the 2023 Irish Podcast Awards.
