KALLITECHNIS is an eclectic Montreal-based singer, songwriter, producer & dancer whose work, while speaking to her beliefs, has garnered acclaim from Complex, Highsnobiety, Okayplayer, CBC, VICE, HYPEBAE, Clash & many more. Known for her warm, soulful vocals and introspective lyrics, KALLI’s sound is as it is presented: colo(u)rful KALLI’s passion for music was ignited as a child as she would sing and dance along to musicals with her mother. Having grown up as a classically trained ballerina, KALLI is no stranger to the spotlight. While completing her major in Psychology, brothers Lou Phelps & KAYTRANADA featured a verse of hers on a track called Average. The response was unanimously positive and gave KALLI the courage to release a string of singles and an EP titled [wet paint]. In the summer of 2018, after only having released music for less than a year, KALLI performed at Canada’s biggest music festival Osheaga. Later on that year, She was featured on a song called Better Without You with Pusha T who at the time, had an ongoing feud with Drake. Approaching the end of a great year, KALLI was sought out to take part in a song camp hosted by Babyface in his legendary personal studio located in the heart of Hollywood. For 1 week, KALLI was mentored by Babyface and wrote songs to pitch for sync placements in movies and TV shows, and to pitch to top 40 artists. After the release of her second EP entitled CHROMATIC, KALLI went on a mini tour hitting Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal and sold out each of those shows. She continued to tour, playing major festivals like FEQ in Quebec, Ottawa Bluesfest, NXNE, and the Montreal Jazz fest which boasted a crowd of 10,000 people. In just a few years KALLI has built a strong core fanbase and has independently accumulated tens of millions of streams and has had her music featured in several ads TV shows and movies. Additionally, KALLI is JUNO nominated, having competed against The Weeknd for Contemporary R&B recording of the year (2022). Nonetheless, KALLI abides by her daily mantra: SOUL OVER EGO, as a reminder that her soul's needs should always outweigh her ego’s wants.
