Following an atomic passage on the stages of almost all the festivals and halls of the province; a packed Club Soda in 2019 for their *Rewerk* concert where their explosive performance is still talked about today; and their tour with Half Moon Run, the guys from Choses Sauvages finally present their new material, still under the Audiogram label.
The Montreal quintet offered a first eponymous opus with a dance-punk flavor in September 2018, which was produced by Emmanuel Ethier (Corridor, P'tit Belliveau, Chocolat, Pierre Lapointe). Very well received by the Quebec press, the album was even nominated in the "Album of the Year - Alternative" category at the 2019 ADISQ Gala and was crowned "Indie-Rock Album of the Year". at the Gala GAMIQ, thereby reaching the top of the charts of independent radio stations in Quebec.
More recently, the effervescent “motorik” rock-heavy piece L’or et l’argent as well as the nine-minute disco epic Apophis , co-produced with sound engineer Samuel Gemme (Gamma Recording Studio) have established the bases of this new sound more explosive and dancing than ever.
Always driven by the concern for a rigorous and meticulous approach, Choses Sauvages has matured without abandoning its rebellious side. Their new album Choses Sauvages II is now closer to certain more electronic and nu-disco influences in the style of L'Impératrice or producer Lindstrøm, while continuing their fascinating journey down the paths of funk, inspired by the Bowies and Bee Gees of this world. Their sound quest, even more polished and biting, finally materializes in twelve songs, for a total of one hour of listening.
After more than a year of containing their energy, expect to see the forces of the "groove riders" increase tenfold in concert. Reputed to be real beasts of the stage, guitarist Marc-Antoine Barbier (Totalement Sublime), guitarist and keyboardist Thierry Malépart, keyboardist Tommy Bélisle and drummer Philippe Gauthier-Boudreau are always led by the incandescent Félix Bélisle (bass , voice). Friend Charles Primeau (Foreign Diplomats) joins the five founding members by playing bass during shows.
