ionnalee is the solo moniker of Swedish audiovisual artist Jonna Lee. After half a decade of audiovisual work with her project ‘iamamiwhoami’, Lee’s solo album ‘EVERYONE AFRAID TO BE FORGOTTEN’ set her international cult-like audience ablaze by its release in 2017, with its accompanying David Lynch-style film; released in alliance with Comme des Garçons. The album’s craftful convergence of bright synthpop, tensile electronics, and soaring vocals, is what Pitchfork likened to the future-shock leitmotifs of The Knife and Austra. Her characteristic vocals and dance movements, often compared to Kate Bush, are staples of ionnalee’s Nordic electronic music and spellbiling audiovisual world.
