Blue Light Sessions presents Coco Jafro & SØURDØPE for a night of fusion and fun!

Coco Jafro is a globe-spanning groove collective blending Moroccan wedding rhythms, 60s funk, Latin soul, and acid jazz into a genre-bending, dancefloor- driven sound. With hypnotic guitar, Afro-Latin percussion, and vintage keys, they deliver high-energy shows rooted in cross-cultural celebration.

Led by Moroccan-born guitarist Amine Said, Coco Jafro weaves a rich tapestry of global influences, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of its members. From Gnawa trance to soul-jazz, from Afrobeat to funk, the band channels a cross-cultural spirit that invites listeners into an ecstatic, rhythm-driven experience.

SØURDØPE splashes toasty horn melodies together with a grooving rhythm section and sparkly guitar textures, drawing inspiration from great instrumental fusion acts like The Budos Band, Yussef Dayes, Lettuce, Vulfpeck, Weather Report, George Benson, Khruangbin, Bonobo, and Flamingosis.

With the Pacific Northwestern shores of BC as their backdrop, SØURDØPE brings with them the ebb and flow of the tides to every stage. As the trumpet and saxophone glow together in evocative melodies over ever-fluid beats, there is something for every listener to find themselves lost in.
