The Project Vancity

The Project Vancity photo

The Project Vancity is a collective first started by gigging session musicians from all over the Metro Vancouver area. Adrian Fitzpatrick, along with fellow session musicians Ricardo Germain and Rai McKenzie, came up with the fun idea of having other session musicians come together to record music. The group took inspiration from the works of Pomplamoose and Scary Pockets. Fitzpatrick connected with all the musicians he knew, and together they wrote and recorded the first covers and mashups at Echoplant Studios in Port Coquitlam. The first video posting was in April of 2021, and since then, The Project Vancity has grown into an executive council of 10 members who plan video series, shows, and other creative works. The collective has a roster of over 150 artists, musicians, singers, writers, audio engineers, videographers, and more. The community continues to grow and connect like-minded individuals in the Metro Vancouver music scene. The Project Vancity inspires new music collaborations, mentorship, provides new experiences for all kinds of music lovers, and propels the careers of artists, media creators, and musicians-for-hire alike. While an official designation of a not-for-profit organization is in the works, the heart of The Project Vancity is connection through creation. The executive members, including Adrian Fitzpatrick, Samantha Dowdell, Keely Rammage Scott, Jeremiah Gowen, and more, continue to work towards that goal in order to grow a better music community for Vancouver.
