Canadian alternative duo The Darcys — Jason Couse and Wes Marskell — have built a career on
reinvention, pairing infectious melodies with forward-thinking production. Renowned for their
genre-defying sound, Esquire noted the band “embody the sort of recklessly bold artistic ambition that
ruled rock music in the ’70s but is significantly harder to find today.” Spin called their output “a pretty
hybrid of Local Natives and Atoms for Peace,” and with each release, The Darcys continue crafting
unpredictable, cinematic music.
Their catalog spans a series of bold, critically acclaimed projects: the JUNO and Polaris Prize
nominated Warring (2014), Centerfold (2016), Fear & Loneliness (2020), and a striking full-length
reimagining of Steely Dan’s Aja (2012).
In 2018, the duo launched their own label, The Darcys Inc. Records, which quickly grew into a radio
powerhouse across North America. Singles including “Running For The Hills” (Top 5 at rock radio),
“1986,” “Washed Away,” and “Trouble Found Me” became alt-radio staples, helping propel the label to
become the 8th most-played on Canadian alternative rock radio in 2023.
Their latest album, Rendering Feelings (2024), marked a defining new era: emotionally charged,
sonically expansive, and unflinchingly candid. The record explores love, identity, technology, and
modern tension through euphoric anthems and intimate ballads. Commercially, the album delivered
four top-10 radio singles, including “Dreaming,” which reached #1 at alternative radio and appeared
across major sports broadcasts including the World Series, NFL Playoffs on FOX, and NASCAR.
Meanwhile, “Talking” landed in Grey’s Anatomy. By the end of 2025, The Darcys ranked as the 10th
most-played artist on Canadian alternative radio.
Onstage, The Darcys translate their cinematic sound into high-impact live performances. In 2025, they
crossed North America alongside The Blue Stones following a mainstage performance at Osheaga. In
2026, they continued touring North America supporting Two Feet. This fall, they take the next step
with their own headline tour.
In 2026, The Darcys expanded the Rendering Feelings universe with a GOODTIME Edition featuring
two new tracks, “over thinking” and “GOODTIME.” “GOODTIME” became the duo’s fastest-charting
single to date and the most-added track at radio for two consecutive weeks and is currently top 10 at
radio. A new 5-song EP arrives in fall 2026.
