Balkan Shmalkan //

Balkan Shmalkan is East Vancouver’s sweet dance party orchestra; think global music with local attitude. Their funky brass dance beats are rooted in the aural traditions of the Roma and Klezmorim of Eastern Europe and blended with a mixture of pop and jazz. Members of the group sing in 5 languages including Serbian, Romani, and Italian. The group contains six to twelve musicians playing reed, brass and percussion instruments of both eastern and western origin.

The Lunchtime Band //

A group forging new tunes in the fires of experimental songwriting, Lunchtime has a seemingly inexhaustible stream of unique and exciting music. With very few songs sounding alike, this group can fit any slot, at any spot, and be warmly received. Lunchtime consists of Luc Torreggiani, Ruedi Mani, Michael Read, Derya Whaley-Kalaora, and Dawson Treadgold, a talented group of musicians from diverse backgrounds.
With roots in rock but influences of prog, metal, punk, jazz, and pop, we bring a dynamic performance that will have you swaying, dancing, and moshing all at once.
