After nearly ten years of being a staple in the west coast music community, Carmanah is announcing their final Vancouver show at The Biltmore Cabaret on May 12, 2023. 

Having released two successful commercial albums (Speak in Rhythms 2017, Iris 2020) Carmanah crafted a niche of its own somewhere between roots, rock and soul. They became known for honing a vintage blend of the intuitive and technical tied seamlessly together by Laura Mina Mitic’s captivating voice. 

The band — including guitarist/vocalist Pat Ferguson, keyboardist/vocalist Lo Waight, bassist Jamil Demers and drummer Graham Keehn — has countlessly toured Canada and into the United States.

In 2020 Carmanah’s momentum shifted. With touring off the table the band found an opportunity to deconstruct and rebuild their approach. “In our gut we recognized that it was time to make some bold changes,” says Laura Mina. “It’s been a wonderful journey so far and we are excited to honour our path but also showcase our evolution. We are starting a new chapter."

What that chapter entails will unfold in the coming months. Until then, catch them live at the Biltmore - and maybe be the first to hear something new.
