Samara Cyn
Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Samara Cyn spent her formative years in an Army family, constantly on the move and learning how to adapt. That nomadic upbringing shaped her dynamic approach to music and storytelling. Now based in Los Angeles, Samara began her musical journey in 2019, writing her first song as a therapeutic outlet that quickly became a full-fledged passion and purpose. As her writing sharpened and her sound came into focus, she began building momentum across streaming platforms, amassing over 70 million global streams to date.
Samara Cyn's blend of heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies have earned her early co-signs from Tyler, The Creator, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Doechii, Nas, Doja Cat, Rapsody, Alicia Keys, Isaiah Rashad, and Teddy Swims. She was also hand-selected to tour with Nas and Smino on their respective celebrated tours, she’s continued to prove herself as an artist who connects just as powerfully on stage as she does on record.
Her debut EP, The Drive Home (2024), captured her evolving journey toward self-identity and marked a major step in her artistic narrative. It arrived to large critical acclaim and catapulted her to the forefront of music’s most exciting new artists. It was chosen as one of Complex’s Best Albums of 2024 and earned her large praise from Rolling Stone, GENIUS, VIBE, UPROXX, Pigeons and Planes and many more. Shortly after, Samara became part of the 2025 XXL Freshman Class, appearing on the XXL Freshman cover, further solidifying her breakout momentum.
She followed it up with another breakout project, Backroads (2025), an EP that drew widespread acclaim from outlets including COMPLEX, Billboard, The FADER, XXL, Pigeons & Planes, UPROXX, Essence, NPR, HYPEBEAST, and OKAYPLAYER, among others. Following its release, Samara made her late-night TV debut on The Daily Show in July 2025, delivering a standout performance of her track “hardheaded” from Backroads. Later that year, she delivered one of the most breathtaking performances at the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival, continuing to cement her reputation as a must-see live performer.
Beyond music, Samara has been featured in campaigns with brands including Nike, Kia, Ganni, TommyGirl (Hilfiger), and ESPN, and has continued expanding her creative world through the launch of her own brand, Third Eye Lazy, further solidifying her position as both an artist and tastemaker. In 2026, Samara is set to embark on her debut headline tour in support of her newest body of work that expands her thrilling sounds into new terrains, marking the next chapter in her rapidly evolving story.
