Karcius
Karcius is a progressive rock band from Montreal, Canada, with a wide range of musical tricks to choose from. The group was formed in the spring of 2001 as an instrumental progressive fusion unit with Simon L’Espérance on guitars, Thomas Brodeur on drums, Mingan Sauriol on keyboard and Dominique Blouin on bass. In 2009, founding members L’Espérance and Brodeur recruited bass player and vocalist Sylvain Auclair (Heaven’s Cry) wishing to incorporate the addition of vocals to their music. Sébastien Cloutier (Hamadryad) joined the group in 2018 on keyboard to complete the present lineup.
For the last decade, they have refined their sound borrowing influences from rock legends like Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Radiohead and Foo Fighters just to name a few. Karcius’ last studio album The Fold (2018) was praised by critics and fans. Their dynamic live performance has got them attention from around the world and can be experienced on their latest Live in France (2019) concert album and Blu-ray disc. Critics are already eating-up their latest single Parasite (2021) and can look forward to their up-coming album Gray, White, Silver, Yellow & Gold (2022).
The future looks very promising for Karcius as each of these solid musicians are constantly striving to conceive musical blends and explore boundless sonic avenues that makes their sound unique.
