Jia

Jia is a Taiwanese-Canadian alternative artist and singer-songwriter from Burnaby, BC, now based in Toronto. Drawing from the cinematic worlds of ’60s French pop, indie rock, desert rock, and dream pop, her music blends nostalgic influences with a distinctly modern touch. Inspired by artists such as Mitski and Françoise Hardy, as well as the films of David Lynch, Wong Kar-Wai, and from the french new wave, Jia creates music that feels both intimate and atmospheric.

She has amassed over 1 million streams across platforms, with editorial playlist placements on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, alongside radio play from CBC and KEXP. In May 2026, she released her debut album, Technicolour, featuring instrumentation from members of City and Colour’s band.
