Googly Eyes
The bold new project from googly eyes, paint me like one of your fav american girls, is the sound of a rising pop iconoclast discovering the full expanse of her powers. As singer, songwriter, and producer, Googly Eyes created the five-song EP as a transformative statement – one that blends hyperpop experimentation with raw emotional depth, showcasing her full range as both a vocalist and producer.
Released via Pretty Swede and Neon Gold Records, the EP is brought to life in collaboration with Tove Lo and Grammy-winning producer Flume, marking the first release from an outside artist on Pretty Swede. “When I started googly eyes, the goal was to find my voice in its purest, most distilled form after feeling stifled for a long time,” says googly eyes. “At first I wrote and produced and mixed everything myself, but now I’m loosening my grip and letting others into my world. It’s been an incredibly freeing experience, and completely changed my idea of what’s possible with my music.” From the confessional anthem “I Don’t Go Out” to the euphoric rebirth of “I Died,” the EP captures her reinvention with fearless creative clarity.
Previously known under different monikers, she launched googly eyes to reconnect with her instincts as both a writer and a performer. With roots in classical training, self-taught production, and mentorship under acclaimed songwriter Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Lizzo) while attending the Lillehammer Institute of Music Production in Norway, she brings a genre-blurring sound that’s emotionally raw and sonically daring. Now based between Scandinavia and Los Angeles, she continues to push boundaries with an artistry that is as vulnerable as it is visionary.
