Future Star, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and bedroom popstar, has developed a reputation for creating intimate live performances "[...]loaded with understated significance and beauty." (Exclaim! magazine, Jun. 7, 2022). Driven by keyboard hooks, catchy vocal melodies, and “sweet and comically candid lyrics” (Discorder magazine, Aug./Sept. 2022), Future Star has been exploring the intricacies of human emotion for over six years, with three full length physical releases and multiple digital-only EPs. Their most recent two works are a call and response - When Will The DJ Of Luv Grant Me My 1 Request (Kingfisher Bluez, vinyl, Feb. 2021) tells a story of queer longing and loneliness; and its follow-up, All Of These Songs Are About You (None Of These Songs Are About Me) (self-released, digital-only, Nov. 2021), is a cycle of love songs written for their partner. Expect big things from this bright light - Future Star is currently getting ready to release a new album, It’s About Time!, a reflection on growth, endings, and the potential that exists within the passage of time. Its About Time! is set to release in spring 2024 on Kingfisher Bluez Records.
