Evie Bamford

Evie Bamford is a guitarist, clarinettist, vocalist and songwriter from Tāmaki Makaurau NZ. Her indie-rock project blends her background in jazz and classical music, using intentional instrumentation and intricate harmonic changes to create an introspective and uplifting sound.

Throughout 2025, Evie and her band mates have been carving out their place in Auckland’s live scene, moving audiences with strong songwriting, danceable grooves, and bridges that fold out into luscious, thought-provoking landscapes.

Recorded live on a farm in Matakana by engineer Ally Doe and self-produced by Evie, ‘Money Bag’ is Evie’s debut single, released on Friday 28th November 2025.

Mixed by Tom Broome, mastered by Josh Llewellyn at Downbeat Mastering, and featuring Rory Johns (keys, synth), Hugo Butler (bass), Jeremy Richardson (drums), James MacEwan (trumpet, vocals), and Evie’s own guitar and vocals, ‘Money Bag’ is a jazz-centric indie rock track that takes aim at the harsh realities of career pressure, capitalism, and the 40-hour work week that many 20-somethings face – especially in Aotearoa’s unforgiving cost of living and unemployability climate.

‘Money Bag’ attracted the attention of many local and international radio stations, with air-play and interviews on stations such as 95bFM, Radio Active, The Most FM, Fresh FM, Radio Control and 4ZZZ in Brisbane. The song received glowing reviews through features on music blogs such as Welcome to the Gig, Empty Spaces, Le Futurewave (Netherlands) and more.

If you’re a fan of Faye Webster, Alice Phoebe Lou or Ullah, Evie Bamford’s warm sound is one to watch.
