Bree Runway

Hiiiii it’s Bree.

A Ghanaian British artist from Hackney, East London. I make music from a place where genre has never felt like a rule, folding pop, rock, hip hop, rap, Afrobeats and electronic music into a world that is entirely my own. My Ghanaian heritage is woven into the rhythm, musicality and spirit of what I create, alongside the audacity and energy of East London.

Everything about Bree Runway has always been heightened: the clothes, the movement, the music, the imagination. I love the spectacle, but underneath it all is a genuine love for making people feel something. I want people to dance, scream, laugh, feel beautiful, feel powerful and feel completely alive.

Over the last few years, I’ve had to become increasingly intentional about what happens behind the spectacle. I write and executive produce my music, creative direct my visuals, style myself and lead the world around what I create. Building independently has taught me how much freedom there is in trusting my own instincts and taking my career into my own hands.

At the centre of this evolution is faith. I’ve returned to the childlike faith that allowed me to dream before I had evidence that the dream was possible. For me, it’s about moving before I can see the whole path, trusting God with the leap and knowing the wings will be there.
