Emerald Osagie
Emerald Osagie is a Toronto-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter known for her soulful voice, emotionally rich sound, and vulnerable storytelling. In 2020, a pivotal connection with producers Hugh Olychick and Morgan Perry of Akashic Records led to the release of her debut single “Bad Boy.” Since then, she has released seven singles and an EP, earning 17,000 monthly Spotify listeners and cultivating a growing fanbase. On TikTok, her acoustic cover of “Take Me to Church” went viral, garnering 1.3 million plays, while her original songs, including “On My Own,” “Sick,” and “Naked,” collectively earned over 1 million views, showcasing her viral appeal and emotional resonance. Emerald has made her mark on the live music scene in Vancouver, performing at notable events such as the Black Block Association Party, Music BC’s “Let’s Hear It” Showcase, Plenty of Fish x Match.com’s Vancouver corporate launch, and headlining Vancouver Pride twice. Her rising profile earned her a nomination for R&B Artist of the Year at the Western Canada Music Awards, and she was featured in an interview on CKUA Radio, where she shared insight into her creative process and journey. In 2023, she released Gaslight, an album featuring Grammy-recognized trumpeter Brownman Ali who has an illustrous career working alongside Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. The collaboration continued on her debut full-length album Life Don’t Love You, released in 2025. The album was launched with a show at Vancouver’s Biltmore Cabaret, where she performed alongside the Couchjams Collective and a trio of backing vocalists.
